Yoga Myths
There are no prerequisites to starting yoga, ESPECIALLY being flexible! Yoga helps you increase your flexibility as well as physical strength, psychological resilience, and enhances the mind/body/spirit connection.
People of ALL shapes, sizes and abilities can practice and benefit from yoga.
This is my favorite one because I felt the same way before I started practicing yoga.
There are dozens of yogic disciplines and styles out there, many of which are very complimentary to the “active” folks who find it hard to calm the mind or are resistant to the idea of slowing down. Ashtanga and Power yoga are just a few examples. These styles of yoga keep you moving, challenge your physical strength and stamina, and, usually without you even noticing, calm the high-energy patterns you mind is used to.

A little about me...
I’ve been practicing yoga for about 20 years, mostly on my own through books but occasionally going to a class in Seattle where I grew up. I studied Exercise Science at Bastyr University and received my Yoga Teacher Certification in the spring of 2020.
I also swim competitively, enjoy SUP boarding (stand up paddle board), CrossFit, rock climbing, running Spartan races, and am die-hard cat-lover with three of my own: Nora, Kyrah, and Baxter.
